5H) RF Filters.

RF stands for "radio frequency". RF interference can do more than the "interference" implies. It can also damage and destroy electronic devices. The RF produced by a TC can enter the house wiring via the power supply.

While a well tuned TC doesn't really create that much RF, I personally have blown a monitor that was not even running, it was plugged in but not powered. Further, the transformer you are powering the TC with can be damaged by RF.

Terry Fritz has designed an easy to construct RF filter that I recommend.. In conjunction with a line filter and a few MOVs (metal oxide varistors), it is easy to protect against RF. I have accidentally left a computer running less than 15 ft away with the filters, and no problems, it didn't even crash. This of course was stupid and is NOT recommended!
